What you do first in Lightroom can make or break your entire workflow, so we're starting from scratch. We thought the best way for you to really learn Lightroom's workflow is to start with a live studio shoot. That way, you see the entire process, right from the moment of capture. You'll see everything, every step of the way at this crucial stage so you'll really know what to do and how to set up Lightroom right the first time to save yourself hours of wasted time and frustration. In this session, you'll learn:

• Which of Lightroom's preferences you need to keep you working faster and more efficiently.
• How to automatically back-up your photos, and organize and sort them so you can find the photos you need fast. (it's easier than you'd think)
• How to leverage Lightroom's features to help you quickly find the best photos from any shoot, and how to keep from getting bogged down when you're dealing with hundreds of images from the same shoot. (the old methods just aren't fast enough)

The Pro Method for Processing Your Raw, TIFF and JPEG images.

11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
Lightroom doesn't care if you're shooting Raw, TIFF or JPEG; it treats them all pretty much the same. It's what you do in the Develop module that makes all the difference in the world. You're going to learn which features make the most difference (and which ones you can pretty much ignore), and how to avoid over-processing your photos. (it's an easy trap to fall into) You'll see exactly what to do, in what order, and how to work as efficiently as possible to get your photos ready to show your client. If you ever struggle with Camera Raw or the whole Raw processing process, you're going to love how easy and straight-forward we make it. Your days of struggling with tonal problems, color casts, and complicated tools are over.

• The six most essential sliders. (and why most of the time, they're all you need)
• How to make Lightroom do all the hard work, while you sit back and just direct.
• How to unleash Lightroom's Develop Module automation so you do the least work possible while processing more photos faster. (this is pretty darn slick!)

You'll see exactly how these two programs work together to create a smooth, professional workflow, plus, along the way you'll learn some very cool Photoshop techniques for photographers.

In this session you'll learn:

• When you should jump over to Photoshop. (and when it's better to skip it and stay in Lightroom)
• The seven most-important Photoshop photo-retouching techniques. (you'll use these even when you're not using Lightroom)
• How to make the process easy and how to leverage the two programs in order to create a workflow that moves quicker together than either one by itself.
• Which tasks are better suited to Lightroom, and which ones you need to use Photoshop for.
• How to incorporate pro sharpening and finishing techniques that make all the difference in creating professional quality prints.

Showing It to the Client

2:45 to 3:45 P.M.
You'll be amazed at some of the creative photographic effects you can apply to your photos right from within Lightroom. In this session you'll see the best formula for creating those spectacular black and white prints, how to get the most vibrant color without over-saturating your photos and making them look "faked," and when it's all done, you'll learn exactly how to set up a professional, custom slide presentation to help you maximize profits and show your work in the best light possible. Plus, if you've ever dreamed of having a super efficient way to let your clients (friends of family) do their proofing on the Web, you'll be amazed at what you'll learn in this eye-opening session.

You'll learn:

• How to automate the printing process once and for all, so you can finally, really, "just sit back and print".

• Which options look best in print. (and which you should avoid)
