Understanding the ins and outs of Layers and Channels and how to use them effectively is how this day begins. The world of layer effects will be carefully explored in this hour. How to get the most out of channel operations to create special effects will also be a topic this first hour.

Retouching That Works

11:15 A.M. to 12:15 P.M.
What makes an image jump off the page? The hows and whys of retouching will be explored in this session. You will also learn how to create and modify the proper brush tip to do the job. How to use masks effectively will be covered in detail. You will learn to make that shot look great.

Compositing That Looks Real

1:15 to 2:30 P.M.
The process for seamlessly compositing multiple images will be discussed in this hour. How to make images from different sources look as if they were shot together. Adjusting light sources, creating reflections and shadows will be covered in detail.

Type, Special Effects and 3D: Your Creativity Unleashed

2:45 to 3:45 P.M.
This hour will explore the world of special effects to finalize the image. You will see how to create type treatments that compliment an image and complete the story. Also the new 3D functions that have been added to CS5 will be explored and how they can be incorporated into your images.

The Final Touches

4:00 to 5:00 P.M.
This final hour will take you on a whirlwind ride into the magical world of filters. You will learn how to distort shapes using the new Puppet Warp feature. How to totally change the mood of an existing image. You will be inspired to let your imagination run wild.
